And Then There Were NONE

I helped load Stud-Muffin into the back seat of a Volvo station wagon yesterday afternoon. It was the first time he'd walked on leather.  An 11 year old was going to ride with him, while his grandma did the driving.
While we did the paperwork inside, Stud-Muffin (who's name might actually stick!) tried to cause his typical mischief in the kitchen.  He put his paws on the counter, nosing around for food, then messed with the open dishwasher, but this was after raiding the big dogs small scrap bowls.  The little ostrich-slayer had also adopted a small white stuffed bunny, which he would hold crazy tight in his jaws.

His last newest trick however was to carry a plastic field cone into the house when we came inside.
On departing the house he ran back into the office area where he'd left it when coming in.  He carried that plastic cone down the steps and the length of the the long yard to the Volvo.  Bright orange cone almost as big as he was, dark black dog holding it proudly in the air-- Stud-Muffin was great for some laughs.

I think Bart (his daddy) will miss him most.  Bart who sometimes made him yelp by playing too hard, would play tag with him, and play fight on the deck.  From upstairs we'd here the metal sounds of the wire mesh patio furniture moving around.  Stud-Muffin would charge Bart who was down on his belly mouth open, and then Bart would chase him back.  The puppy's only safety was under the table, which Bart would move.
Bart would sometimes pull him out by grabbing the pups back leg and dragging him. Don't think Stud-Muffin liked that part of  the game.Other times Bart would let Stud-Muffin be on top of him with the puppy grabbing his throat, all tails would be wagging.

This will mean more time for the big dogs now-- my my night-time glow-ball retrievers.

Stud-Muffin the Ostrich Slayer

Last night I took down an Ostrich, I grabbed it by the neck and shook it. Then I dinosaur bit it across it's whole body, and ran and jumped in the air with it like a giant bucking bronco It's skinny neck, and spindly legs flopped behind me as I bounded through the house. Man the inside is great, it just makes me crazy to be in here!  I ran Ostrich to Bart's dog bed and slid in along the tile, then I ran with him around the TV room, back down the carpet, and jumped onto my My mom's (Millie's) Bed. Ostrich tried to fight back but I won. My human took it out of my mouth and threw it, but I chased it down, again and again, I pounced on it, picked it up and thrashed it back and forth, while the humans laughed and cried!

It might have been my mom's Ostrich, but now it is mine! I am Stud-Muffin-- Ostrich Slayer..

The Last Puppy is Me

I'm still a puppy and this is my blog.  I'm a puppy among dogs, and people. I no longer sleep in the pen that I spent time in with my litter mates. During the day I'm in the backyard with my daddy Bart. He is big, fun, rough and he shakes the world on the deck.  My mom, Millie, is a little strict. She can be scary, but if I give her some room, by retreating to under the patio table and chairs, I usually can stay out of harms way.  Sometimes they let me jump up and chew on them like a puppy, and sometimes I need to run for my life!

I now sleep in a crate, which my boss human pushes me into, he actually lifts me into it so that I can't get any traction with my paws on the rug.  After the door closes I get a milk bone treat.
I can keep the crate clean from 10 pm until 6 am with not problems.  My crate is next to my mom who sleeps on a dog bed.

I watch the big dogs retrieve Kong rings and a torn softball which my boss human throws off the deck. Sometimes he throws a plastic mini-football for me to retrieve.  I get to run around on the front yard with the boss every night for a few minutes before going to bed. I love to run crazy circles around the front yard, though I do miss my puppy sisters, and puppy brother Rambone.

I don't know why the my boss human put me back in the the cage for a few minutes the other day, he does things with bright flashing lights, but eventually the blue spots fade away.

I do a good job of keeping it clean in the house, unless the boss lady talks to me with baby talk.
I do my best to lick those people as much as possible. Every once in a while I hear them say, "let's keep him" and by the looks in their eyes I know they want to, especially when I'm giving them a good licking!
I'm in here because? -- and you know, I was the first puppy to clear this board!
That's me on the left more than a week ago, Blue and Rambone are at their forever homes.

Not Funny, Let me OUT

No need for that paper business behind me, I'm crate trained :-)

Yes I do retrieve, you now it's in my genes.

I am Stud-Muffin, and I'm Now Alone

Today after getting petted and doted on at the veterinarian"s office by 4 or 5 woman using baby talk at me, Blue my sister, peed on the floor. When she was getting her shots, I tried to climb up on the counter for more yummy treats -- probably too many. On the ride home we saw something that smelled like those treats  in the dog crate, they were delicious, and delicious again.

At one point there were needles, people messing with my ears, and even a cat!
The big person at the house, and the house lady, held me, and then messed with my ears again.  Then they called Blue into the house alone, and I've not seen her again.

Tonight while Bart fetched the glow ball, and Millie fetched a Kong Ring, I sat alone in the moonlight watching them, with nopuppy to chew on, or to be chewed by.

Blue has found her forever home, and I'm living at home with my mom and dad doodles. The good news is that I think I'll sleep in my own crate next to the big dogs in the house tonight. Hope I can keep it together, not cry too much, and keep my bed clean.  I'll be running with and wrestling with Blue in my sleep tonight.

Puppy dreams.

Puppies in Waiting (Blues Last Pics?)

Blue has a few people looking at her again, she should find her forever home soon.  Stud-Muffin has had a recent inquiry or two as well, but Blue seems perched and leaning forward towards a new life first.

Because Stud-Muffin had a small photo shoot a few days ago, it's Blue's turn. Though these will be on the quick, inside, with an hand holding her and no handsome boy holding her :-)
