Purple Puppy has been re-homed.. No More Puppies

Our last, but certainly not least puppy -Purple Collared female, has hopefully found her forever home.

If we have any returns, due to re-homing situations we'll immediately post them to the blog, and we'll contact the last few request we've gotten first.

If you're still looking for a doodle don't give up.  Ours have been great dogs--as most are, but we went labradoodle, because I always had big dogs around me. Grew up with big German Shepherds, and remember the 3 sequential ones I had as a kid, then college ages. I remember the Golden Retrievers that my parents, siblings and especially my older sister had.

I had my first lab, Ben when I was working at Cornell back in the early 90s.
He was awesome.  I had a not so awesome, but still great buddy "Garth" a strong-willed bear-headed, intimidating, and at times too-aggressive, 90 pounder, -- but every bit of his bad self was a real dog.

Real dog... dumb guy thing, --needs to be big enough to give good side thumps to, and maybe wrestle, and mouth a little...

But back to doodles;
We had an oldest son with pet allergies, and he never had a dog, until we went the labradoodle route.
It really worked, he never had allergic reactions --eyes, nose stuff in our house.

Dogs stayed downstairs, people slept upstairs.  So the doodle, a half  "real dog" and a half poodle thing/ --kind of like eating quiche, and crepes and speaking French and stuff maybe.  Remember that "American fries" thing.  Poodle things/behaviors or idiosyncrasies,  were fun to notice, especially with Millie. They are different, definitely smart, though that's hard to tell when Bart's tongue is hanging out of his mouth.

We had someone with strong dog allergies house sit for 4 nights.  Our doodle mama, Millie, slept on the floor next to him by the couch, and he said that he never had a problem.   Mind you there are houses he can't even go into that have regular (real dogs)...

They do shed a little bit, some, but very little compared to shepherds, labs and goldens, but they apparently have so little dander, that they can still be a good choice for some folks who otherwise can't be around other dogs.

This rambling post was basically a way to say that, we're plum out of puppies.
Thanks for reading this far, if you did, you might need a better cable plan :-)

One Puppy/ Purple Female Left..

Except for Purple Collar Female, all puppies are pending pickup/ re-homing.
These might be the last puppy pics/ purple puppy pics, but time will tell.

This morning, they all got a bath, de-worming medicine, and an ear cleaning.  Some of these things were more fun than others -- de-wormer taste like butterscotch, and during baths we get some hilarious puppy grunts. There's also nothing like the in-the-lap towel dry time attention for a baby dog.

So what's here is the solo Purple puppy-photo op.  She's still a little wet from the bath, and more so from the wet grass.

Down to TWO Pups,--One Male, and One Female puppy left.. Red and Purple are available.

Red Collared Male has become available, and so is Purple Collared Female.
These F2 (Second Generation/ F1 Labradoodle x F1 Labradoodle cross dogs) have slightly fleece/ fluffy coats.

The dad (Bart) had a straighter coat as a pup, and the mom (Millie) had more of a fleece coat --like these as a puppy.

Red-Collar Male, and Purple Collar Female Still Seeking Forever Homes

Today was a busy one for Millie's 2017 litter, and as of right now, in the PM of the 24th, several puppies have been spoken for with deposits except for Purple Collared Female, and Red Collared Male.

Purple was almost selected, but Green, out-sweeted her after an hour long sweet-offing, puppy chin-licking, tail-wagging, cute-eyeing, sock and shoe nibbling contest.

So barring unforeseen changes in adoptive parent situations, if you're looking for one of Millie's it Purple Girl front and center.

Red-Collared Male has become available again,  --change of heart on the perspective buyers.  He's a handsome devil too!
It was Too Dark for yard pics last night.  We'll do a photo shoot on Red and Purple on the big lawn this afternoon.

Post Puppy Bath on the Front Yard 7-18-2017

While a puppy bath only takes a few minutes, playing with them on the grass until they are dry can take hours.  The de-worming weights were 7 lbs for all but Pink, and White who tipped the scale at 5.5 lbs. All are probably working on being a pound past that now.

Here are a few shots, ranging from somewhat wet puppies, to dry puppies. They're grouped by individual collar color.

New Litter 2017 Four Females and one Male

Millie's puppies were born on June 5th and are approaching their one month birthday.
So here are some pics of our one month old Labradoodles on the 4th of July 2017.
As it was the fourth, we tried to get there pics on our red and blue Adirondack chairs.
This was a big day for them, as they got to sit on chairs, and run on the grass--which was fun to chew on, until it got stuck between puppy teeth. A world of first things begins!
